Pet sweaters - style and warmth for pets
Published by Aristo Co on 2015-03-06 06:47:00It was a cold winter day. The town of Varna is in north-east Bulgaria, on the Black Sea coast, and the climate is usually warm. The winter season only rarely shows us what it is capable of. Snowstorms are very rare and severe temperatures only last for a couple of days at a time. It was one of those exceptions. The wind howled outside, unrelenting and cruel. The snow and cold had forced everyone off the streets and into their warm homes.
We too were in our warm and cozy office. We were having some hot tea when we heard a scratching at the front door. ’What’s going on?” we wondered.
I opened the door and there was Shakespeare, the neighbor’s dog. He just stood there sad and shivering and just begging to be let in. his big black eyes were so mournful that we just couldn’t let him stay our in the cold.
But then, Shakespeare warmed up and began getting into mischief :-) He felt like playing. And he bothered everyone.
So then I decided it was time for him to go back to his own house. I led him to the door but he stopped and looked at me with such accusation in his eyes. I was dressed in a cozy wool sweater and I was in a warm room, and he had to go outside into the cold and rely only on his own coat. I couldn’t stand it :-)) I took a ball of thick woolen yarn and two knitting needles and… soon enough (yes, well, the weather had already warmed up :-)) ) Shakespeare had a warm sweater and leggings as well.
I had thought that it would be very difficult to dress him. After all, he had never worn any clothes in his life. I needn’t have worried at all. He not only let me dress him, he was extremely happy that we were doing it.
I stood and watched him as he played with the fluffy snowflakes and… I decided that we could make some warm clothes for your pets as well.
We knitted a few designs. Now, we had to make photos. Again I started to wonder whether Shakespeare would let me dress him and make photos. He’s just an ordinary dog, after all. He isn’t a circus dog or an actor.
But he was just wonderful. A real hero during the photo shoot :-)) We took photos of other dogs later on but I’ll never forget the photo shoot with Shakespeare.
Shakespeare, we thank you.
